DCS Architect / Project Manager 4 Job Description
Performs leading-edge areas of work for the implementation of the Design Build Construction Process. Prevents potential problems and provides effective solutions in reaction to application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes. Displays original thinking in applying principles, theories, and concepts on a wide range of problems.
Knowledge and Experience:
A Degree in Architecture or Project Management, or equivalent years of experience.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge in field of Architecture & Design Build Construction specialization or multiple disciplines to the successful completion of complex construction projects. Successfully serves as point of authority and/or source of technical knowledge of Architecture principals in construction, planning, & installation requirements as it relates to Medical Imaging Equipment. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of organizations business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues.
Direction of Others:
Develops customer solutions by working with Project Managers, Sales Account Executives, Architects, Engineers, and Contractors to implement construction principles and project management methodologies to ensure the successful execution and outcomes of complex projects.

Acts as advisor to customers and business partners on advanced technical matters. Represents the company as the primary external contact. Knowledge of Construction / Project- Program Management, Analytical Problem Solving, and Interpersonal skills. Strong business aptitude in Design Build Construction, Construction Proposals / Contracts, CSI 16 Division format, Financial Management, logistics processes and customer / contractor interfacing.
Design and Construction PM SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES:
Responsibilities include overall project management of Design and Construction Services (DCS) projects to support the business volume goals while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
An In-depth knowledge of the Design Build Construction Process as it relates to Medical Imaging Equipment Industry. Knowledge of Construction / Project Management, Analytical Problem Solving, and Interpersonal skills.
Strong business aptitude in Design Build Construction, Construction Proposals / Contracts, CSI 16 Division format, Financial Management, logistics processes and customer / contractor interfacing.
This position also supports the sales effort by creating and delivering DCS services which include new space planning, existing space and modular construction proposals as requested by the customer base.
Review construction scopes and contracts with project stakeholders to develop customer expectations. Additional responsibilities include continued process improvements to reduce nonconforming costs.
Manage assigned projects to ensure project scheduling and budget compliance. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or processes independently.
Provide technical assistance and yearly training to DCS vendor base.
Knowledge of PMI standards for project management processes.
Knowledge of the overall construction industry as it relates specifically to medical equipment private and government industry.
Knowledge of the Siemens IDIQ contact, (turnkey and extended installation) for the VA and DLA projects.
Familiar with the Facilities Guidelines Institute and the VA construction guidelines for the construction and installation of medical imaging systems.
Knowledge of Architectural principles, construction contract law, terms and conditions, bonding, insurance, workman’s compensation, claims, local codes, permitting requirements, project budget financing, accounting practices, construction bidding processes, local and federal tax requirements and risk assessments and managing virtual teams.
Additional competencies needed to fulfill areas of responsibility include communication skills, team leader skills, problem solving skills, conflict management skills, critical thinking skills and business writing skills.
Must have knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and work instructions as applicable to this job function. Must have knowledge of Siemens matrix organization and perform cross functional work requirements within the matrix structure.
Obtain and maintain PMI certification.
Provide Program Direction for multiple projects.
Coordinate multiple projects large enterprise hospital network or IDN.
Effectively communicate at all levels of the large group entity particularly at the executive or C level.
Provide dotted-line oversight of DCS vendors when coordinating multiple projects across the network.
Provides relationship management and status reporting of all projects to the partner’s executive management.
Manage multiple projects in support of ground-up new hospital or research facility.
Develop and implement detailed solutions for complex project challenges by working with advanced stakeholders and SMEs.
Develop and deploy educational content in designated area of expertise.
Develop training and mentoring of new hires.
Support Siemens Project Managers and Sales team in best practices, issue resolution, and Customer Satisfaction issues.
Support the RFP process.
