Siemens Water Solutions is looking for an Upstream Applications Engineer with at least 3 years experience. The successful candidate will report to our Upstream Business Manager and will be primarily responsible for developing proposals for our Produced Water treatment systems – costing, technical scope definition, and execution plan of the project, including engineering, procurement, fabrication and transportation.
Secondarily, the candidate will be responsible for support process technology evaluation, selection, and operations optimization of new produced water systems to meet our customer’s growing needs.
Support global Sales opportunities in defining budget and firm proposals through the entire sales cycle.
Recommend the solution offering that complies with customer requirements and specifications defined in the project RFQ.
Establish and track opportunity bidding costs.
Identify project risks and propose mitigation methods.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The qualified candidate will have experience and developing expertise in the following areas:
Process design knowledge of physical, mechanical and chemical produced water treatment, including coagulation and flocculation; flotation; filtration and membrane separation.
Definition of RFQ packages for engineering, equipment and fabrication of Oil/Water Separation systems to fulfill project specifications, as well as evaluation of returning proposals to establish the costs of customized projects.
Execution of technical/commercial budgetary and firm proposals, in close cooperation with the Business Administration and Legal teams.
Definition of execution plans and project schedules, which will be the basis for costing.
Experience with Microsoft Office productivity software (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD, and in the development of custom solutions using Excel. Working knowledge of process modeling software for process design and assisting in development of detailed Excel spreadsheet models to aid in process design and analyses.
Data analysis and process optimization.
Engineering and life-cycle cost analyses used in evaluation of process feasibility.
The ability and desire to work effectively with a range of internal and external project professionals including customer engineering, process engineering, procurement, vendors, consultants, and EPCs.
Familiarity with engineering specifications applicable to water and wastewater treatment plant design and equipment selection for the industrial markets served.
Excellent writing skills, including proposal development for budget-level and firm bid opportunities.
+5 years of experience in dealing with Upstream Oil/Water Separation is required.
M.S. degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
