Siemens Mobility Customer Services is a fast growing business with a backlog of > $1 Billion. To execute this backlog on highest performance levels and to ensure constant growth, Siemens looking for highly motivated and competent individuals.
The Site Management Leader will lead the new Siemens Mobility Customer Services Site which is currently ramped up in Clackamas, OR. In this location, Siemens will perform mid-life overhaul for 79 Light Rail Vehicles with a project duration of about 6-8 years. To ensure the customer and project success, Siemens is interested in adding a leader which has a proven record in guiding and supervising a team of about 15 people in a satellite environmental and can interact professional with the customers. The suceesful candidate will be supported by the entire Customer Services organization which has its HQ in Sacramento, CA.
The Site Management leader will be a key contributer to ensure the on-time project execution within its operational budget parameter and to maintain and foster a healthy and cooperative customer relationship.
The Site Management Leader will establish and manage a motivated team which which will deliver in a safe environmental operational excellence. The responsibilities are include but are not limited to the following:
Ensures adherence to defined guidelines, processes and procedures, for all site operations assigned.
Oversees completion of site administration according to performance standards agreed (on schedule, at requisite quality level, on-budget).
Assumes economic responsibility, e.g. calculates material, personnel, and running contract costs for suppliers.
Represents the site in all decision-making committees of the project (towards own management, customer and team).
Coordinates contractors before and during execution of work.
Establishes efficient methods/processes for site controlling and reporting.
Assesses risks/opportunities at the construction site (e.g. economic, organizational or contractual risks, acceptance criteria, change request procedures).
Monitors compliance to standards, regulations, laws, quality and EHS guidelines.
Leads qualified employees in one functional team.
Identifies and escalates critical topics early to the Project Management
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
The successful candidate should have deep professional know-how and experience in an operational / manufacturing environment. Ideally the candidate would have already some experience in refurbishments / overhauls, which comes with different challenges. The candidate will have to transfers and apply know-how to to this refurbishment project and should be able to apply solid professional judgment and problem solving competence. Contant improvements of existing processes and approaches is needed and knowledge sharing within own team is required to ensure the best impact on the results in own area
Needs advanced management understanding in order to lead and align employees in different workflows and / or projects organization environment. Planning and managing results and performance is essential.
- High school diploma or GED
At least 3 years of experience vehicle production / refurbishment or overhaul environmental (e.g. rail, aviation, naval, heavy equipment).
Experience implementing workinstruction in a workflow and driving and improving of manufacturing process requirements
Basic project management skills , including developing project plans, timelines / schedules, budgets, proposed layouts, resource requirements, calculating ROI, etc.
Practical knowledge of the lean tool box and ability to utilize lean principles to reduce waste.
Proven record in successful leading teams of >5 people
Experience in working in a Satelite site location would be beneficial
