Position Overview

The Siemens Winston Service Center is seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Technician/Technical Writer to develop and generate operational work instructions for the repair of hot end turbine components.  In this role, you will be responsible for generating order specific instructions to the shop floor for repairing engine run hot end turbine components. You will also get the opportunity to review and manage existing documents/work instructions, including collaborating with shop floor operations, engineering and quality. This position provides on-going shop floor support for proper interpretation of engineering specifications and associated quality requirements.


Major Responsibilities:
• Plan, develop, organize write and edit operational work instructions
• Generate order specific instructions for repair of hot end turbine components
• Audit/review documents housed in our quality system and recommend/manage changes/updates/deletions
• Ability to read and interpret engineering technical documents and communicate such to shop floor operations
• Understand quality systems for inclusion of quality requirements in work instructions
• Generate final repair reports for Customers to understand extent of scope for the repair and associated activities


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
You will need the following to be successful in this role:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to write procedures/instructions for multiple audiences
• Action oriented while also having a very strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Able to write procedures/instructions for multiple audiences
• Skilled at prioritization 
• 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Achieved an Associates Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
You move to the top of the pack with the following:
• Experience with SAP a plus
• Knowledge of machining/manufacturing/assembly experience
• Prior knowledge of gas turbines
