Job Description:

Material Handler

Responsibilities include general warehouse duties, receiving, kitting large projects and picking small jobs, shipping material and / or projects to customers and cycle counting aided by industrial forklift equipment.

This position will require a strong background in computer skills.  Use of Microsoft Office and Excel are required. Having SAP knowledge is a large plus.

An ideal candidate will have good communication skills with warehouse and other groups tied to warehouse operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing Production Orders to completion.
  • Expedites critical materials from receiving to storage and/or other designated areas.
  • Inputs material transactions into appropriate databases.
  • Fill backorders to the production jobs as soon as materials are available.
  • Conducts inventory audits on a regular basis to detect discrepancies.
  • Ensure materials are stored in the correct FIFO order.
  • Evaluate shelf-life and remove expired products.
  • Assist Cycle Count Analyst to resolve inventory discrepancies..
  • Oversees material handling between receiving and product prep functions
  • Monitors and maintains accuracy of inventory.
  • Assists with training new team members in logistics organization.
  • Primarily intra-organizational contacts and limited external customer contacts.
  • Reviews orders, verifies product availability and enters orders into the computer.
  • Reviews, researches and tracks excess inventory or other issues and recommends disposition.
  • Completes documentation to accurately track performance measurements.
  • Participates in implementing transportation strategies and tactics to support customer service and inventory replenishment.
  • Maintain a safe work environment throughout all storage locations.
  • Evaluate excess inventories and make recommendations for proper lot sizes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store locations.
