Position Overview


The Applicant is in close contact with customers in order to develop and grow the business through consultation and sales activities. In combination with his application engineering function the Engineer position interprets customer requirements and specifications to prepare a customized solution with Drives, Automation and Power distribution for the customer’s application.  

For proposals this individual will work mainly with internal product suppliers to create a complete technical proposal for sectional / stand-alone drives, DCS, Switchgear, MCC, Transformers including outline drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials and relevant trainings and service test plans for the customer. 

He / She will work in the local Application Center and reports directly to the Head of Fiber Industry.  





Interface with the full range of the solution spectrum contacts – End-customers, OEM partners, consultancies, integrators, internal and external suppliers / vendors, Sales and field service personnel. 

Prepare technical proposals for Pulp & Paper applications including participation in the bid- release-process.

Provide engineering support for Sales, Project Management, Field Service during project, life-cycle up to and including commissioning.

The individual is able to do consultation for the customer’s projects and provide recommendations for future technical solutions.



Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:  


Education: BA or BS degree in Electrical Engineering (E.E.) or (E.E.T.). MBA or MS degree a plus. 

8 years of engineering / operational experience with Sectional Drives, DCS, Power Distribution and Solutions. 

Has specialized product/system, service and application knowledge in the fiber industry.

Proven record of performance and trusted professional credibility. 

Strong organization and excellent time management skills.

Possess a familiarity with and follow all engineering policies and procedures.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal and external contacts.

Has a professional approach and is motivated to interact with customers personally.

Computer skills required, including Microsoft Office.     

He / She is a team-player.


Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience


Background in application engineering / field service directly related to the Pulp & Paper or similar Industry.

Experience with, sectional drives, low & medium voltage motors, single drives and automation. 

Experience working directly for electrical / automation suppliers to the Pulp & Paper Industry.

Knowhow of power distribution equipment, e.g. switchgear, MCC, transformers.

Has experience in business development / sales in the Pulp & Paper or similar industry.

Being able to interact with a global organization and supplier factories.

Knowledge of Siemens SIPAPER software.
