Accounting Professional
 
Overview

The Accounting Professional is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and timely accounting records in compliance with the company’s financial reporting guidelines and applicable accounting standards. This includes period-end closing procedures, preparing financial reports and supplementary schedules, and reconciling account balances and transactions.

 
Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA qualification preferred

  • Minimum three years GL accounting experience; Project accounting experience is an added advantage

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP; IFRS is an added advantage)

  • Knowledge of Oracle e-Business Suite preferred (AP, AR, Inventory, Project, and GL modules)

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel

  • Produces accurate and reliable work within tight deadlines

  • Attention to detail and well organised
  • Must be able to work extended hours during peak periods

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

 
Responsibilities
  • Period-end closing of accounting books
  • Preparing calculations and journal entries for period-end accruals and provisions

  • Preparing supporting schedules and journal entries for period-end balance sheet reclassifications

  • Monitoring Oracle modules for exceptions daily and following-up with various teams (e.g. BA OPS, SCM, and FSS) for resolution

  • Monitoring intercompany balances to ensure accounting books are in agreement with counterparties and preparing balancing journal entries where needed

  • Preparing monthly/quarterly financial reports and supplementary schedules

  • Preparing monthly revenue and cost of goods sold (COGS) reconciliations

  • Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Researching accounting differences for errors and proposing corrective action

  • Preparing quarterly balance sheet review packages

  • Preparing schedules and compiling supporting documents for internal and external audits

  • Coordinating and assisting with annual physical inventory and fixed asset counts

  • Assisting with Oracle system fixes and testing
  • Working on special projects and/or ad hoc requests for management and other business units, e.g. Group Financial Reporting (CF R), Group Tax (CF T), and Risk and Internal Control (RIC)
