Siemens Industry - Customer Services Division is searching for a Consulting Field Service Engineer to perform field service, engineering, troubleshooting and commissioning activates for Process Automation Systems in industrial and utility facilities located in the Southern Mid West area. Equipment knowledge to include the majority of the following; PCS-7, APACS, WinCC industrial controls, various communications protocols (mainly Profibus) and other Siemens products.
Responsible for installation, initial testing, operation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and modification of customer equipment and systems. Guide on-site technical and operational support in the design, development, installation and maintenance of equipment and systems of a very complex nature. Guide complex site surveys to develop base or installation design plans. Train customers to maintain and adjust very complex equipment. Develop and submit reports covering all job activity. Guide the maintenance of very complex tools, test equipment, calibration items, etc. Develop the planning and estimating of labor categories, rates, material dollar costs, transportation expenses and per diem rates to complete very complex proposals. Guide the review of very complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics and provides continual guidance throughout task duration.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
MUST HAVE hands on working proficiency with Siemens PCS7 Distributed Control System , No exceptions
8 years of experience with the following skills:
Hardware and software Configuration of Siemens PCS7 Distributed Control Systems;
Experience with copper and fiber-optic networks (Profibus, Etherne) along with the ability to set them up and troubleshoot them to a final resolution;
Designing, configuring and modifying Siemens PCS7 Simatic Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s);
Experience in several of the following processes: Paper Mills, Cement Plants, Power Generation, Gas Separation, and Specialty Chemical; familiarity with Siemens Application Libraries.
Approximately 60% travel required.
Telecommuting permitted when not at customer site.
