Job Description:

Siemens Rail Automation is seeking to hire a Engineering Technician to support field issues and to support customers with our products. In this role, you will assist with and observe routine engineering related studies, processes, designs, inspections and/or quality audits.

-Provides assistance with gathering, recording and maintaining engineering specific information. -Assists with the preparation of routine charts, graphs and diagrams to illustrate various engineering procedures.
-Provides assistance with routine testing and troubleshooting in a variety of engineering tasks.
-Assists in assembling routine prototypes.
-Assists with routine specification development or preparation.
-Provide support to external customer. This will involve installation of equipment, troubleshooting of installed equipment and gathering of information at customer site. There will also be phone support and documentation of this support. The travel may be extended at times.

Identifies problems as they occur and suggests appropriate steps to solve them in
situations where the problem is not difficult or complex. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from others.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Education:

-Associate’s degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred.  HS diploma or equivalent required.   Specialized skill training/certification may be required.

-Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of test equipment and schematic reading.

-Generally, 2-5 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
