Job Description:

 

Are you ready to be a part of a fast paced logistics team moving some of the most challenging cargo?  Do you have a strong operational railroad background that you can build on along with learning new things?

 

 

Requirements

  • Responsible for developing strategy, planning, and execution of all SGRE wind turbine rail movements, railcar usage flow, and train fixture optimization in North America.

  • Manage and execute rail movement of multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Support internal customers with information regarding project execution status, strategy updates, and overall rail expertise.

  • Manage Distribution Center operations, and support project logistics coordinators in daily execution as needed.

  • Planning the complete logistic cycle of Railcars including delivery schedules for multiple projects.

  • Coordinate transport equipment development to support rail movements.

  • Coordinate and manage clearance requests, strategy discussions, and business opportunities with Railroads, 3PLs and internal senior management

  • Assist in reviewing, developing and implementing safety plans, policies and procedures

  • Responsible for developing cost savings measures on all SGRE rail movements.

  • Direct interface with suppliers to assure safe operation of trains and handling at Distribution Centers

  • Lead distribution Center kick-off meetings to support open communication and safe operations.

  • Proactive communication with Logistics Director and Senior Management on Rail Transportation topics for multiple projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • College/university degree in business or related field, preferred.

  • Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.

  • Fluency in Spanish, may be a plus

  • 5+ Years experience in Logistics and Rail Movements

  • Advanced knowledge of: railroad operations, GCOR and operating safety rules.

  • Experience in RFP/Purchasing movements by Rail

  • Knowledge of the Wind Industry

  • Understanding of overdimensional movements/clearances by rail.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Works well under pressure and stress

  • Team player with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • High energy and performance level

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Critical, time sensitive decision making that impacts contractual agreement
