Job Description:

This position is a technology leadership role on ultrasound systems engineering responsible for: define ultrasound imaging system architecture; specify system/subsystem performance specifications to meet image quality needs; define imaging system and feature enhancement needs and lead implementations; lead system performance verification; lead cross-functional team to investigate and resolve complicated issues. 


RESPONSIBILITIES



The Principal Systems Engineer works with cross-functional product development team and provides technical leadership in:


· Defining and implementing ultrasound imaging architecture for new product introduction, key domain areas include transmitting and receiving frontend, beamforming, signal processing for b-mode, color flow, spectral Doppler, and other advanced features.


· Defining image quality specifications and flowing down to subsystems including transducer, TX/RX frontend, beamforming, mid-processing, and backend processing.


· Driving innovation and continual improvement of imaging performance all the way from concept generation, to prototyping, and product implementation.


· Mentoring and coaching junior team members; leveraging knowledge, experience to elevate the technical/clinical capabilities of team; driving collaboration and team work.


 

 

 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


 


  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related fields;

  • Minimum 15 years in medical imaging product development (including significant experience in imaging algorithms and ultrasound image optimization).

  • Demonstrated technical abilities; ability to coordinate development efforts of a highly technical group

  • Demonstrated technical leadership in coordinating complicated projects

  • Knowledge of regulations for medical devices

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Able to adapt quickly to change and work in a rapidly-evolving environment
