Responsibilities
 

The Quality Technician II will be responsible to support specific Quality projects and initiatives which include the understanding and execution of quality departmental processes.  In addition, have a working knowledge of Engineering drawings, supplier data sheets, purchase order requirements, written inspection plans, verbal instructions and function in a team environment. The utilization of network files and company applications is essential to this position.  Also responsible for one or more of the following:

 
  • Quality Inspection
    • Coordinate repairs and/or questions regarding discrepancies with the appropriate department

    • Perform incoming inspections/first articles on general material and perform outgoing material inspections and drive inspections, as required

    • Complete record of inspection results, acceptance, rejection and disposition.  Enter basic data into log books or computer databases

  • Defect Mitigation and Containment
    • Respond to notifications of quality problems identified by production, quality inspection, or other sources.

    • Solve or facilitate the solution of the problem.

    • Coordinate containment of the problem.
    • Ensures that the solution to problems meets quality requirements

    • Document the solution to the problem and associated information in CATSWEB.

       
  • Utilize measurement tools as required

  • Support containment of quality issues via collaboration with other company functions.

  • Conduct training as required and act as a mentor to fellow associates

  • Represent Quality Department on cross-functional teams/meetings

  • Housekeeping and 5S activities which includes organizing work area for orderliness at all times and ensuring work area is accessible and safe for internal employees and customer traffic

  • Knowledge of all duties will be cross functional but specific duties may be assigned.

  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

     
     

    Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

     
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Intermediate computer skills required
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills and problem solving skills
 
 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

 
  • Minimum of one to three years manufacturing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred
