Position Overview:

Siemens Tax group in Orlando is seeking a team oriented self starter in an individual contributor role to run the indirect tax teams help desk.  In this position you will interact with internal and external Siemens customers as the first point of contact for customer support on the tax help desk to answer sales tax questions, respond to exemption certificates request, and route complex questions to team members.  This position will report to the sales tax manager and has a direct impact on customer service scores by providing timely and quality customer service.
 Customer Help Desk
•First point of contact for tax help desk
•Respond to help desk tickets within service level agreement timeline
•Respond to help desk phone calls
•Provide accurate indirect tax advice via tax help ticket and phone calls
•Assign complex help desk tickets to tax consultant

 Compliance/Exemption Certificate Management
•Execute the exemption certificate process to ensure SOC’s (Siemens Operating Companies) are legally compliant for exemption certificate documentation to meet State requirements and meet internal service level agreements.
•Monitor, execute and respond to EZ-Suite and tax department fax boxes customer tax exemption request to meet service level agreements.
•Validate and load exemption certificate request in SOC provided tools (Web Toolkit, Taxware, Vertex, etc.)
•Execute, track, and communicate the monthly exemption certificate renewal process.
•Timely and accurately complete monthly assigned exemption certificate metrics.

 Tax Processes
•Update internal desktop procedures and process maps for exemption certificate
•Recommend exemption certificate management  process improvements
•Comply with internal control  requirements for exemption certificate management
•Recommend process improvements based on root cause analysis of rejected exemption certificates

 Tax Adjustment Process
•Complete the tax adjustment process for request received through the review and completion of tax adjustment request received through EZ-Suite, Email, or Simplex
•Provide tax team members supporting documentation on tax adjustments to complete refund claims

 Tax Audits
•Assist in printing documentation for audits by retrieving invoices, exemption certificates other documentation required to defend SOC in a sales or property tax audits

 Miscellaneous Duties
•Assist in the daily mail distribution and filing
•Actively contribute and participate in assigned departmental goals and objectives to meet Siemens assigned targets for financial, customer, process, and employee targets
•Participate as requested in the exemption certificate management and tax adjustment  process for new SOC migrations. Sample task include: Documenting exemption processes, scanning exemptions, filing exemptions

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
• Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
• 2 plus years sales tax exemption and compliance experience
• 2 plus years experience using tax exemption systems (Vertex, Sovos/Taxware, Avalara)
• Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment while paying attention to detail
