This position offers great visibility within the organization and a potential career path into a variety of possible careers including: digital content writing strategist either at the divisional level or business unit level, sales support specialist, public relations specialist, or Technical Marketing Engineer (TME). As a writer for the technical content creation/writing strategist, you will play a central role in strategizing, writing and placing high quality thought leadership content within Digital Industries Software online properties as well as industry publications, conferences and events. A smaller portion of the responsibilities will focus on generating social media content across the portfolio of software products. You will gather research and data, interview subject matter experts, and translate complex information into clear and concise customer-facing content using desktop publishing tools, such as InDesign, for a variety of outbound communications including:
• Technicalwhite papers
• Customer success stories
• Conference papers
• Blog posts
• Video scripts
• Product datasheets
• Social media
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
You should possess strong writing and editing skills with education and/or experience in technology or scientific markets.
It is helpful to have a basic knowledge of working with online publications and social media to coordinate project delivery.
A technical background, such as a BS or an Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering/computer disciplines is preferred, since you will be working closely with Siemens Digital Industries Software technology engineers and managers.
A positive attitude, a commitment to teamwork, and strong interpersonal communications are also important for success.
