Position Overview

Siemens stands for world class quality. This Quality Engineer position will support the factory quality program and report directly to the LD GA400 Factory Quality Manager.

Responsibilities include
1. Customer Complaint Handling & Corrective Action

2. Quality Process Management, Quality Program Improvements and Strategic

Support

3. Quality Planning support for New Product/ Project Introductions

4. Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Reporting, Analysis, Controlling & Target Achievement

5. Quality Support for Manufacturing (control of nonconforming product, quality

holds, problem solving)
6. Providing Training on Quality Topics
 
 
Responsibilities

1. Customer Complaint Handling and Field Quality – Lead complaint handling process, containment activities.  Lead corrective/ preventive action teams using structured problem solving methods.  Effectively communicate with customers and technical experts to solve complex problems. Analyze field failure data trends, generate reports and corrective actions. Create reports in a professional manner that can be presented to customers and top management.

2. Quality Process Management, Quality Program Improvements and Strategic

Support- Lead internal quality audits to ISO 9001 standard, report results and facilitate corrective action.  Lead projects to improve quality processes.  Create and update quality procedures.

3. Quality Planning for New Product Introductions, Lead and facilitate Advanced Product Quality Planning activities with cross functional team members. Prepare/execute PFMEA’s, Control Plans, First Article Inspections, APQP Checklists  and implement control methods in Manufacturing.

4. Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Reporting, Analysis, Controlling & Target Achievement- Quality metric reporting, analysis, driving subsequent countermeasures and preventive action.

5. Quality Support for Manufacturing- Support nonconforming product activities, quality holds, containment, identification, segregation, traceability, investigations, communication and problem solving.  Provide advanced support/ guidance to production teams in the use of quality/ lean tools (PFMEA, statistical analysis, Poke Yoka, corrective action (8D), value stream map). Communicate with technical experts to support shop floor with complex problems. (Engineering, Product Managers, etc.)

6. Providing Training on Quality Topics - Identify training needs/deficiencies affecting quality within the organization. Train others on quality concepts, systems, control methods and problem solving tools.

Direction of Others: Expected to lead problem solving teams, provide training, coaching

and leadership on quality topics.

Customers, Sales, Project Management, Customer Service, Quality

Management)
 

Experience Required:  2-5 years of experience specifically in a Quality Engineering role. This is not an entry level position.

 
Education: BS in Engineering
 

Quality Method Experience: 2-5 years

  • Experience in customer complaint handling and field failure analysis (2-5 years)

  • Experience in leading corrective/ preventive action teams using structured problem solving methods (2-5 years)

  • Experience in using standard methods to control of nonconforming product (2-5 years)

  • Experience in creating reports in a professional manner that can be presented to customers and top management  (2-5 years)

  • Experience in writing procedures (1-5 years)

  • Experience in conducting internal quality audits to ISO 9001 standard (1-5 years)

  • Experience in leading projects to improve quality processes (1-5 years)

  • Experience in leading Advanced Product Quality Planning activities. (PFMEA’s, Control Plans, First Article Inspections, developing control methods) (1-5 years)

  • Experience in quality metric reporting, analysis and driving subsequent countermeasures. (1-5 years)

  • Experience in providing support/ guidance to production teams in the use of quality/ lean tools (1-5 years)

  • Experience in training others on quality concepts, systems, control methods and

  • Experience in identifying training needs/deficiencies affecting quality within the organization and providing basic training. (1-5 years)

     

Quality Management Knowledge (Intermediate)

  • Knowledge of quality management concepts and ISO 9001 standard (Intermediate level)

  • Knowledge of internal auditing fundamentals (Intermediate level)

  • Knowledge of inspection tool/ gauge use- (Intermediate level)

  • Knowledge of inspection techniques & standards  (Intermediate level)

  • Knowledge of common quality metric definitions and data collection methods (Intermediate level)

  • Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in English language (at college level)

  • Ability to read engineering drawings & schematics (Intermediate level)

    sensitive situations- (Intermediate/ Advanced)
