This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for:
You will independently perform preventative maintenance, repair, performance assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting of assigned products within specified vendor guidelines with minimal supervision.
You will establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers, as well as performing necessary administrative duties accurately to ensure maximum operational satisfaction.
In your activities you will demonstrate products during customer visits and at international conventions in order to provide sales support
You will accompany and support customers during external reference site visits
You will take part at the knowledge exchange with our R&D team to improve and further develop our products and software solutions

You like providing technical services; perform preventive maintenance, performance assurance inspections, electrical safety inspections, operation verification procedures, repairs, calibrations and installations with general biomedical equipment. Ordering parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of medical equipment.
You like to collaborate; working with, directing and documenting the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery and standards. Supervising and maintaining quality control of services provided by outside vendors.
You are always learning and will maintain your biomedical expertise through ongoing training and education. Maintaining knowledge of current regulatory agencies, and the policies, codes, standards, and regulations that apply to the clinical equipment.
You are meticulous when evaluating new equipment, accessories and supplies, as well as maintaining technical literature library.
Conducts cross-training in the techniques of testing, calibrating, operating and troubleshooting lab systems for less experienced BMET’s.
You have an eye for Regulatory Compliance; ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the equipment databases to include the inventory, preventative maintenance schedules, nomenclature, and service history, adhering to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures. Being responsible for ensuring all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurate. Including work order control, maintenance history records, PM and safety
You enjoy account relationship management; building and maintaining customer relationships, discussing equipment status and functionality with clinicians, adhering to the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization(s) served. Being positive representation of Siemens by integrating the core values into job performance and providing input for service delivery on equipment supported.
You have completed studies as MTRA (medical technical radiology assistant, radiographer) or MTA (medical technical assistant) and have at least several years of relevant clinical MR experience as MTRA or application specialist
You have good PC skills (MS Office software like Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
You will be working with our latest technology and therefore you are willing to learn about new software and hardware solutions
Willingness to travel and flexibility, including short-term international deployment, is expected
Since you are interacting with international customers, excellent English skills (ideally as native language, spoken and written) are necessary, German language skills and knowledge of other languages is of advantage
You have very good presentation skills in the customer environment and you show team orientation, communication skills and customer orientation
Required skills to have for the success of this role:
Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Biomedical Equipment Technician Certification may be required.
Experience in testing, repairing and maintaining Biomedical Equipment.
Strong electronics and computer background preferred
Field service experience is preferred with strong customer service and communication skills.
Must be proficient in the use of tools and service test equipment.
A valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
Must be able to work both individually and in an established team setting; must be willing to work different shifts as business needs dictate
Ability to travel and provide service in assigned geography; willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
Knowledge of the principles, theories, concepts, and practices of the biomedical engineering profession required.
Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, guidelines, and standards, and the ability to make recommendations to assure compliance with medical center programs required.
Knowledge of organizational concepts and an understanding of the operational needs of other administrative hospital services preferred.
Ability to prepare material on current technical topics and trends for presentation to other technical staff and mid-level hospital management, and the ability to keep abreast of changes in technology preferred.
Candidates must be willing to work up to 30% overtime, as well as shift work, as business needs dictate
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Minimum of 5-8 years MR Technology experience; including experience in a Medical Technology industry
Willing to travel up to 20%
