Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Primary Technology interface supporting Wind Turbine Sales in Americas Region. Matrix reporting to the Sales Managers providing Engineering documentation, information and technical support for the Sales team members, customer representatives, vendors and suppliers.
 
  • Ensures Technology deliverables (such as technical exhibits, product roadmap, BOMs, grid models, certificates, assembly manuals, turbine software packages, etc.) are provided accurately and according to the Sales schedule.
 
  • Interfaces with Design Engineering to provide feedback on new and existing designs.
 
  • Coordinates all technical support to the sales team interfacing with Regional, Global, and Service Technology Teams to support sales, project and site issues with the goal of achieving project milestones according to project schedule, budget and Technology excellence.
 
  • Lead the resolution of project development issues such as foundation design approvals, interconnection, contract change orders and commissioning
 
  • Travels to customer office or wind sites to provide technical guidance to SGRE site personnel as required. Requires overall Wind Turbine Product knowledge and knowledge of site construction practices or ability to acquire this knowledge.
 
  • The candidate will provide and prepare information as required to internal and external customers, and will have to review contracts, product due diligence reports, installation and commissioning manuals for wind turbines studies (internal or external).
 
  • Demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes for an area or business segment as well as product information.
 
  • Has the experience or expertise to solve problems, lead root cause analysis and execute objectives for self and others.
 
  • The Senior TPM Engineer will play a key role in mentoring other team members of the TPM Sales team and serve as a project representative with clients, consultants and vendors.
 
  • Create technical relationships with the clients’ engineering teams and independent engineering firms (IEs). Develop networks with standards committees, clients and industrial institutions: focal point with clients Technologists
 
  • Assure quick and efficient implementation of lessons learned of contracts, documentation and product requests.
 
 
Successful candidates are required to possess the following:
 
  • Educational background in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering (BS or MS level)
  • Over 5 years of experience in wind technology (Engineering, R&D, Service Technology)
  • Have cross-disciplinary understanding of the wind turbine design process and overall value-chain
  • Knowledge and experience in product development processes
  • Ability to solve difficult technical challenges through innovation, dedication and cooperation with a global team
  • Ability to work and thrive both independently and in a team environment
  • Have a systematic and well-organized approach, and maintain solid oversight of projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Previous experience in cross functional and international teams
  • Experience in technical leadership and mentorship
  • Proficient in Spanish language a strong plus
  • Flexibility in travel estimated in 30% (able to go to Spain for a couple of weeks training, field installation, etc.)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Duty / Responsibility
Resolve technical problems and questions from customers, consultants, sales or business development department during sales phase of the project.
Manage projects and lead (mentor) team members of TPM sales engineers: training, coaching, etc.
Create technical relationships with the clients’ engineering teams and independent engineering firms (IEs). Develop networks with standards committees, clients and industrial institutions: focal point with clients Technologists
Review technical reports, specifications, design documents, and process definition documentation
Create technical documentation (exhibits) to support the sales, marketing and projects team of SGRE Wind Turbines
Technical support of sales and projects department in the negotiation of new wind farm projects
Technical negotiation with the client during project development and after contract signature
Support Product Management activities by assessing and reporting on the technology demands of the market
Support Due Diligence reporting by Independent Engineering firms.
Ensure technical compliance of products with codes of practice, standards and legislation.
Development of training material and provide training for sales, execution and others
Lead the resolution of execution issues such as foundation design approvals, interconnection, contract change orders and commissioning
Lead the resolution of technical issues born from interpretation of national and international standards
Project management of all technical task related to a wind farm
Act as liaison between SGRE and the customer, utilities, local authorities, and governmental departments
Perform all other duties as assigned
