We are pleased to be recruiting for a new Procurement Manager to join our healthcare diagnostics team. The Procurement Manager role is based at our well-established and modern manufacturing and distribution facility at Llanberis, North Wales. The facility, based in Snowdonia National Park, manufactures and distributes reagents used in hospitals worldwide to aid the diagnosis of medical conditions.

We are looking for a highly motivated and capable professional who will manage our multi-site procurement activities, ensuring we maintain supply for our legacy products while supporting the business as it seeks new business opportunities.

The Procurement Manager will lead a team of Buyers and Purchasing Administrators and act as the key point of contact for all direct and in-direct procurement related activities. The role will involve working very closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure compliant, on-time supply of materials and pricing.

The role will report directly to the Head of Materials Management at Llanberis with a dotted line into Strategic Procurement based in the US. The role holder will be expected to develop good working relationships within the department, with local senior management and procurement personnel in Healthcare and Central departments. The role is also responsible for the Los Angeles procurement and logistics departments (4 staff in Llanberis and 3 staff in Los Angeles).

What are my responsibilities?

Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of manufacturing procurement staff across both manufacturing sites

Maintain ongoing relationships with suppliers

Deal with supplier performance and monitor, manage and report on key performance indicators

Plan and control inventories in order to create an optimal inventory structure,  balancing inventory and supplier spending to minimise cash flow but not impacting delivery, quality or compliance

Liaise with other managers to understand their current and anticipated demand for goods and manufacturing materials and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules

Prepare and conduct negotiations to obtain highest feasible savings whilst retaining quality and reliable on-time supply

Generate, document and implement savings, e.g. CNI. Plan, monitor and report on relevant KPIs to contribute to the success of the business and to ensure results are transparent

Creation of Supplier Contract Agreements to forge safe and secure relationships

Ensuring supply chain security by monitoring and managing Issues and risks associated with supply and demand

What do I need to qualify for the role?

Significant purchasing experience within a manufacturing industry.

Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of coaching and developing teams.

Experience in highly regulated environment

Experience with ERP system, preferably SAP

Strong supplier negotiations and analytical skills

Track record of developing procurement strategies and delivering results

Excellent communication skills
