Supporting project delivery throughout the UK, this role has the overall responsibility of ensuring all Enforcement solutions are successfully delivered. Reporting to the Head of Operations you will be expected to plan, monitor and deliver all Projects to the required Time, Cost and Quality drivers, ensuring customer satisfaction and maximising opportunities for increased revenue. You will be responsible for establishing effective relationships with the customer base and able to adapt your project delivery approach based on the scale and complexity of your project portfolio. 

What are my responsibilities? 
  • Take ownership of project delivery, including the financial, commercial, and team resources to ensure a successful outcome and non-conformance is minimised. Deliver projects against contractual obligations ensuring that Siemens manage variations, claims, and SLA’s appropriately
  • Manage and control a number concurrent projects by taking responsibility for all implementation activities covering order income, scheduling and resource management, contract management and variations, risk management, cost control and closure
  • Hold regular reviews with your commercial partner and provide monthly sales forecasts for your project portfolio 
  • Work with the Tendering team to support the preparation of tenders/project business cases through the identification of key project tasks, deliverables, risk, resource costings and forecasts spend profile
  • Undertake and document the initiation phase of assigned projects through detailed scoping of project tasks, deliverables, requirements and constraints. Work with the project team to produce and maintain the project plan, risk profile, and costs
  • Ensure adequate definition of the scope of work and requirements for external suppliers Ensure all suppliers deliver to the agreed budget, to pre-defined time scales and quality standards
  • Manage and monitor the performance of all sub-contractors. Ensure health and safety is considered first, and best practice is followed, in every situation through audit, induction, risk assessment, and near miss completion and reporting
  • Manage progress of all assigned projects against the agreed plan through co-ordination of work package managers activities, day-to-day issue resolution and risk management
  • Ensure satisfactory sign-off and closure of all assigned projects with lessons learnt, non-conformances and ensure that any learnings are followed up with peers and relevant parts of the business to facilitate continuous change
  • Within your projects develop a working knowledge of the technical solution and product capabilities to ensure that management of change and deviations from scope can be progressed with insight and knowledge
  • Ensure the working safety of the project team and comply with all appropriate regulations
What do I need to qualify for this job? 
  • A strong communicator with the ability to interact at all levels within Siemens ITS, Customer, and Supplier organisations
  • Confident to initiate, negotiate, and conclude difficult contractual discussions where necessary to ensure that change is managed and communicated effectively. Able to make informed decisions on Projects and Tenders based on interpretations of Contract Terms and Conditions and Contract Specifications
  • Able to deliver presentations/reports to other functional groups and senior management, and to chair project progress meetings with the project teams as and when required
  • Capable of understanding customer, supplier and subcontractor agendas and objectives, and managing these to the betterment of the project
  • Inherent desire to understand complex technologies and solutions.  Able to resolve complex, multi-functional problems
  • Leads project teams, actively encourages teamwork and co-operation and responds positively to input.  Makes decisions, seeking support where appropriate
  • Competent in the application of Siemens ITS Project Management tools.  Able to make informed decisions on Projects and Tenders based on interpretations of Contract Terms and Conditions and Contract Specifications
  • Responsible for complying with Business Assurance processes to ensure that self, immediate colleagues and the Company are not compromised
  • Expected to be qualified to University level in a related technical, scientific, or business related degree. Working toward or already have either APM, Prince 2 certification/qualification
  • An ability to monitor and control planned costs against budgeted and actual costs, and expected to maximise profit margins on projects through close control of costs and through contract variations
  • A good understanding of financial risks and risk management tools is essential as is the ability to influence costs throughout the project
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Microsoft Project
  • Responsible for managing internal and external resources, addressing issues and resolving problems with minimal supervision
  • Acquired skills in line with the Association of Project Management (APM) Body of Knowledge
