Siemens Careers

Software Engineer

Cambridge, United Kingdom
Research & Development

English (UK)

Job Description

We are a small software development group based in the Siemens offices in Cambridge, UK. Our products – the D-Cubed Components – are used in a wide range of CAD (Computer Aided Design) and other related applications on platforms ranging from cloud services, workstations and laptops to mobile devices. For further information about our products and customers see

All our products are designed to solve complex mathematical or geometric problems accurately and efficiently. Although they were first released many years ago, we are continually extending and improving them to meet the needs of our customers and the users of their applications. It is no exaggeration to say that every day there are millions of engineers, designers and architects who rely on our software to do their job, and ultimately these are the people who we are developing our products for.

Our software developers work together in small teams which have ownership of one or more of the products. We develop in a collaborative way, but individuals are involved in all stages of the process from initial concept and design, through to implementation and testing. Innovation is key to coming up with solutions, but just as importantly we need to produce high-quality software that our customers can rely on.

As well as the opportunity to solve new and interesting problems we offer a relaxed and flexible working atmosphere, and a culture of mutual respect and shared responsibility for getting the job done. Our modern office is centrally-based with good public transport links, and benefits from a range of social activities for the 200 employees who work here.
