Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Bids & Proposals Professional to join our Energy Management team based in Macquarie Park, NSW. This role assumes responsibility for proper interpretation of inquiries and execution of bid preparation considering all technical, commercial, contractual and administrative aspects, aiming for competitive advantage and bid success. 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead the tendering process from early engagement until contract closure/handover to project manager
  • Detailed tender analysis and input for Bid-No-Bid decisions
  • Conduct Risk Assessment and prepare corresponding check-sheet
  • Define offer structure, work packages and bidding strategy
  • Bid clarifications with Customer and with internal and external partners
  • Establish project plans, time schedules and manpower planning
  • Establish bid organisation, document structure and communication procedures and liaison rules with customer and key partners
  • Issue inquiries and obtain cost and terms for all required equipment, systems and services; verify technical compliance with tender and compile deviation lists, technical specifications, drawings and other technical bid documents
  • Prepare cost compilation and commercial calculation/pricing
  • Initiate and conduct internal offer release process and compile the required documentation for management briefing and confirmation
  • Conduct regular bid status/progress/coordination meetings
  • Compile technical bids in required quantity and structure ready for customer
  • Compile commercial bid in cooperation with commercial management
  • Arrange for cross-check of terms by Corporate Legal Services
  • Lead the Siemens "Limits of Authority Process" (LOA) for the bid phase
  • Investigate particular bid submission procedures and comply with the same
  • Bid clarifications and negotiations with customers
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following:
  • Minimum 5 years working experience as Project/Bid Manager, Estimator or similar role
  • Relevant tertiary Electrical engineering qualification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to work effectively with various stakeholder groups
  • Work experience in a similar field of power engineering
