Job Description

The Mission:

 

This position is responsible for depot related subjects of the Siemens Transit System Integration scope. Participate on the integration process of the Transit System into the overall Metro System with the civil partners.

 

 

What are my responsibilities?

 

  • Track and controls the progress for the overall Depot Integration as assigned to Siemens in the Consortium. In particular but not only in terms of REM and IFM.

  • Track and controls the progress for the overall iconic stations Integration as assigned to Siemens in the Consortium. In particular but not only in terms of REM and IFM.

  • Ensure together with the Transit System Integration Manager smooth integration of the Transit system installations in the Depot and iconic stations areas. Initiates procedures necessary internally, participate on procedures on consortium level, supervise the works to meet all contract requirements

  • Coordinates all civil related interfaces from the Transit System towards the CWJV and vice versa

  • Interacts with the Siemens Integration Team in Berlin, is part of it and represents it. Furthermore communicates with the Siemens Engineering lots (Power Supply, Signaling, Communication, SCADA, Platform Screen Doors and Depot Maintenance Equipment), with relevant departments inside the Siemens organization (such as Commercial, legal, Project Management), the BACS consortium, CWJV, architect’s offices.

  • Conducts himself in an appropriate manner as a representative of Siemens, working effectively in an intercultural work environment.

  • Contributes to subjects such as negotiating contract change orders.

  • Contributes to depot/system design related field design changes, non-conformance reports, requests for information, and documentation

  • Tracks and traces modifications to existing system as assigned to ensure compliance with applicable design criteria, standards, and codes, related to Civil interface subjects

  • Contributes in Siemens System Engineering in oversight of depot/train/system design.

  • Contributes depot and system design elements of the work with other Siemens Lots on-side to ensure integration

  • Identifies areas where procedural requirements need to be established for operations within the depot Furthermore coordinates with system design and with other Siemens Lots which physical provisions may be required to support these procedures.

  • Contributes to depot and system design safety elements together with other Siemens Lots on-side to ensure integration also on safety aspects

 

What do I need to qualify for this job?

 

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Construction Management. Alternatively other Engineering degree welcome, if experience is given by long period practice in railway related projects.

  • Minimum 5 years Rail transportation experience in design and also construction of major transit improvement projects, in construction.

  • Knowledge of power supply solutions, various telecommunication technologies & supervision systems.

  • General knowledge of depot operations and functionalities, depot workshop equipment and rolling stock, Building Management Systems, 3D-modelling, contract terminology, budgeting process.

  • Solid knowledge of retail areas, P&R facilities, workplace/-area safety

  • Intercultural approach must be able to deal with different cultures, occupational categories, behaviors and attitudes. 

  • Ability to foster a team work environment.

  • Perceives fairness, tolerance, honesty, is consistent in application of policies and procedures.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organized thought processes, polite and respectful of others, adapts presentations to the audience.

  • Ability to manage time and workload efficiently, including planning, organizing, prioritizing, and following-through on a variety of projects, assignments, reports, and tasks.

  • Language English is must, advantageously is  to have Arabic language skills too
