Senior Project Manager

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager to lead Programmes with the aim of completing customer projects on schedule, within the budget, with the required quality and to the customer's satisfaction, also considering other interested parties (stakeholders). You will be responsible for being the interface between Sales, the customer and other partners.

Projects will be multi-facetted, will include sub-contracts and will be of high value (10m) and complexity.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Delivery of project(s) to (within) budget and specification, time, cost and quality, by using the LoA tool

Ÿ  Delivery of project(s) to laid down legislation and company standards, such as PM@Siemens, QM@Siemens, LoA

Ÿ  Ensure customer satisfaction constantly seeking out and responding to customer feedback

Ÿ  Optimal use of resources (personnel and equipment/materials)

Ÿ  Proposal Management - Develops the overall concept for the proposal, prepares the planning and tender costing according to valid guidelines. Identifies the necessary resources for preparing the proposal (incl. suitable and qualified partners/sub-contractors) and ensures their availability

Ÿ  Interprets financial project data analogues to project progress, considering demands of US-GAAP, develops tax measures and implements them

Ÿ  Supports strategic viewpoints when managing the financial aspects of a project

Ÿ  Sets up efficient procedures/processes for project controlling and reporting that always enables an up-to-date overview of the project

Ÿ  Contract Management - Estimates effects of changes in requirements/products ordered with respect to: costs, project plan, total order value (as input for contract negotiations, for example)

Ÿ  Customer Management - Knows the customer's business and operations and considers them in any recommendations. Ensure customer satisfaction, constantly seeking out and responding to customer feedback

Ÿ  Building a success-orientated project team

Ÿ  Responsibility for Results - ensures that the project runs to budget, profit and the required margin. Is aware of and in control of these figures at all times and informs/updates other stakeholders on a regular basis

Ÿ  Holds regular project reviews with required stakeholders

Ÿ  Contribute to ongoing review and continuous improvement of Project Management methods

Ÿ  Is involved in Lessons Learned Workshops at project closure

Ÿ  Continuous improvement of the job and activities in line with the Siemens Values

What do I need to qualify?

Ÿ  Ideally candidates will have an engineering background and hold a degree or HNC or equivalent in Engineering, Business or Project Management

Ÿ  A member of the APM is beneficial but not essential

Ÿ  Experience of managing projects at a Program level

Ÿ  Experience/Knowledge of Project Management tools and techniques

Ÿ  Knowledge of Project Management methodologies

Ÿ  Experience of leading and managing a project team which may include Siemens staff and sub-contractors, and some experience of project managing or working within a project team may be beneficial but not essential

Ÿ  Experience within the rail industry, and an understanding of project implementation, may also be beneficial
