FEA Development Support Engineer
Siemens PLM Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
We are recruiting for highly qualified and motivated Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer to join our Development Support team. In this role you will be using your experience of finite element methods especially its use to model electromagnetic systems. You will be joining a team that provides high level support and ensures the absorption of knowledge throughout company allowing end users to use STAR-CCM+ to its maximum potential.
· You will demonstrate a high-level understanding of finite element analysis for CAE and Simulation.
· Lending your experience to model real-world engineering applications, especially Electromagnetics (e-mobility/electric machine).
§ Cooperate on other projects that include, but not limited to Solid Mechanics for Structural Analyses and Viscoelastic/Non-Newtonian fluid flows, fluid flow for fluid-structure interactions, design optimisations and co-simulation.
§ Making sure newly implemented STAR-CCM+, FEA code developments are well understood.
As a Development Support Engineer you will work closely with software developers as new versions of STAR-CCM+ are developed to help ensure new features of the code are well understood. Triaging bugs reports and responding to internal customers. Emphasis is given to demonstrating the use of newly implemented software features and their functionalities.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
· A post-graduate degree (PhD, Meng, MSc or equivalent in Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering)
· Prior industrial/research experience working with, supporting and/or testing FEA software.
· Ability to work as a part of a team and meet project goals.
· Basic programming (Java, C++) and/or shell scripting skills.
