Finance Manager – Siemens Power and Gas

Reporting to the Finance Director for Siemens Power Generation, and managing a small team, this role is responsible for the financial performance of two businesses which deliver power generation projects in the UK, and also the financial support for the Global Power and Gas Account Management team. These businesses work with a wide range of UK and global companies and the major part is currently experiencing growth. Project value range from €3m to €150m. The role also provides finance support to a worldwide sales team for the Oil and Gas business which comprises of c50 people based in c20 countries. The role requires a very flexible approach in line with the changing requirements of a project business and sales organisation. This role is based in our head office in Frimley.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly actuals and rolling forecast – P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow for projects and SG&A

  • Consolidation of project performance – close liaison with Commercial Project Managers.

  • Provide analysis and support to all the HQ teams

  • Understand and present the current and expected performance against KPI to the senior management team including forecast accuracy

  • Reporting and monthly commentaries in SAP (ESPRIT)

  • Monthly reconciliations including full balance sheet - review and approval

  • SOX /ICFR Controls Implementation process - monthly review and approval

  • Cost centre controlling and maintenance

  • Prepare and monitor annual cost allocation tables for the support allocation costs

  • Payroll and annual bonus reconciliation and review, liaising with HR

  • Draft SLA and cross charges

  • Annual Tax Reporting (PSA)

  • Support for bids as required

  • Auditor liaison

  • Process Improvement – reducing complexity and supporting introduction of digitalisation within Finance.

  • Work flow Management - SAP (Spiridon), Purchasing Tool (One SRM) and Currency Management (Currima)

  • Currency Management and Analysis, including hedging

  • Manage a small team - Provide clear direction and empowerment to the team of two, one Senior Finance Analyst and Finance Graduate, so they can perform at the expected standards

  • Ad hoc queries

 Skills/Experience Required:

  • Qualified Recognised Accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or equivalent

  • Leadership skills to manage a growing team

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and operate efficiently under continuous change

  • Strong business and accountancy understanding and experience

  • Experience supporting senior management

  • Ability to work across countries/regions and confidently work with senior stakeholders

  • Strong drive for results, accuracy and control compliance

  • Good communication skills, value-added mentality, flexibility and adaptability

  • The ability to use initiative and be proactive in anticipating problems which may occur

  • Organised and Structured Approach

  • Experience negotiating and agreeing SLAs.

  • Spriridon / SAP – Detailed knowledge required

  • Interest in digitalisation within financial environment.

  • Competent user of Excel
