You will be responsible in a consultant/high level key expert role for designing LEAN logistics and production control concepts for entire factories along the whole value chain (material flow and information flow). In close collaboration with factory management you will lead process improvement and process transformation projects.


What are my responsibilities?

The role is based in Nanjing, China. Functionally, you will be part of Siemens Digital Industries Motion Control Business unit´s Global Manufacturing Electronics Team and be the main point of contact for our Business Unit´s factories in China (3 factories, producing electro motors & electronics).

You are responsible in a consultant/high level expert role for designing LEAN logistics and production control concepts for entire factories along the end-to-end value chain (material flow and information flow). In close collaboration with factory management and relevant business stakeholders you will initiate and lead process improvement and process transformation projects:

From order intake process and supplier concepts through inbound handling, warehousing and stock strategies, production planning and scheduling processes, line side logistics up to outbound warehousing and handling you will lead and conduct regular value stream reviews in close collaboration with Logistics and Plant Operating leaders. Analyzing processes End to End in order to identify process weaknesses and potentials and develop solution suggestions how to improve current processes. Including coaching/consulting the local business stakeholders in implementing these suggested solutions and driving that identified potentials are realized. Always with the aim to drive logistic performance to the next level and assure the team drives measurable business impact: Increased delivery reliability, optimized inventory levels, shorter lead times and optimized supply chain cost.

Doing so, you will use modern methods and approaches from the area of lean production, lean logistics and digitalization.
You will seek, share and institutionalize best practices and standards for the factories and aim to bring logistic performance of China´s Factories to “world class level”.

For your projects, you regularly communicate progress, status and issues to the business and factory leaders.


What do I need to qualify for this job?


University degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or Business administration


Fluency in English (written and verbal)

Willingness to travel for process improvement projects to the three Chinese factories

Strong oral and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively to different levels of the organization

Excellent analytical and quantitative skills

Demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results

Good understanding and experience in applying methods of LEAN

Strong and proven project management experience in leading process improvement projects

Several years of in-depth experience in logistics with experience in development/ conceptualization and optimization of logistic processes, ideally in the electronics industry and/or motor manufacturing; additional experience in Production Control is beneficial
