Description

The SHS IT G PPM PQS team proactively engages within SHS IT projects and across service/application teams in support of successful business results.

The PQS team member is the individual who has a primary responsibility to ensure that global standard practices for project management in SHS IT are monitored and supported as defined by the PM Process Owner, and to effectively apply, improve, and support the tools and processes within the PM global standards.

The PQS team member responsibilities include sponsorship, design, and continual improvement of the PM practices and metrics.  This includes the processes and tools used to execute the global PM standards, as well as, incorporation of / interface with / proposing of improvements for other topics, processes, and tools that support project success that influence or are executed as part of projects, but not owned by the PM Process Owner (E.g., demand management, change management, supplier management, quality management, requirements engineering, ACP, DP, ECC, SIPA, OPERA, software clearing, …).

The PQS team member:

·        Actively and proactively participates in SHS IT project activities as described within processes used by SHS IT.  This includes collaboration, creation, review, and approval of documentation, and decision making as needed to support successful project results.

·        Applies experiences, expertise, trainings, and communications to support SHS IT with the PM global standards for successful project execution.

·        Monitors project performance through data transparency and feedback from PMs, stakeholders, and others as provided.

·        Drives improvements based on PM global standards monitoring with a keen focus on digitalization and automation.

·        Supports of all types of projects (like infrastructure, software development, strategic, or process) and software development methodologies (like Agile, iterative, or waterfall).

·        Contributes to training courses that are developed and implemented to ensure that PM global standards for project execution meet the real needs of the project stakeholders, including customers and end users.

·        Serves as the liaison across processes for compliance topics and across various roles like the PM, product owner, scrum master, test manager, and service/application owner, as well as the software development team for successful project execution.

·        Acts as mentor and partner for PM at some level throughout the entire service, application, or software development life cycle.

·        Supports ensuring that PM global standards are trained, implemented, and executed within projects by the SHS IT organization worldwide.

The SHS IT G PPM PQS team members need:

·        An understanding of PM global standards – including processes and tools - this includes interfaces to other processes and compliance topics, like how requirements and testing are aligned to ensure optimal project performance and quality.

·        An understanding of foundational PM principles including management of scope, schedule, budget, risk, resources, quality, communications, suppliers, stakeholders, and team operations.

·        An understanding of SHS compliance topics to ensure effective execution within a project.

·        An understanding of contemporary PM principles including Lean, Scrum, and Agile.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

The SHS IT G PPM PQS team members:

·        Work with project teams to ensure PM global standards are known and understood.

·        Assess gaps in project team understanding of PM global standards and support resolving any gaps through training, counseling, and/or planning.

·        Support development of PM global standard deliverables through authoring, reviewing, and approving as defined by the process.

·        Establish a trusted, value add relationship with the project teams as assigned.

·        Propose improvements for PM global standards with a focus on digitalization and automation.

·        Apply LEAN principles in support of the principles of SHS.

·        Develop KPIs and measurements to track project performance and improvements.

·        Travel internationally on a regular basis, based on assignments.

·        Other duties as assigned and necessary to ensure that SHS IT performs at the highest level and is providing value to our Business Partners.
