Job Description

Job title:           Head of Electrical Wiring Accessories   

Line Manager:   Head of Operations      

This role can be based in Cannock or Hindley Green

Criteria Detail

Purpose of Job 

  • Create and implement Electrical Wiring Accessories (EWA) Product Unit strategy, in line with Company strategy

  • In addition to a functional role, lead EWA team in delivering world class Product Management, Research and Design and Procurement activities

  • Ensures coordination of resource across multi-disciplinary team towards common goal of delivering innovative product to market on time and within budget

  • Drives improvement in To-Market lead times through efficient, lean process management

  • Ultimately accountable for providing collaborative, productive, mutually beneficial link between EWA operational product teams and the Sales Function, working together to identify opportunities and manage risk

  • Provide escalation point for all EWA Project Management queries

 

Key tasks        

  • Coordinating Multi-disciplinary team towards key strategic objectives

  • Maintain EWA market share through strategic evaluation of the market and implementation of innovative Product Design and Management and through effective Procurement.

  • Provide effective link between subordinate teams and Senior Management

  • Effective people management in ensuring exemplary performance, engagement, collaboration and innovation

  • Collaborating openly across the business to meet EWA project timelines and cost requirements

  • Ensure processes within the Product Unit are LEAN, effective and as efficient as possible through process management and re-engineering

  • Key Results/ Objectives Delivery of EWA projects on time, to cost and to quality requirements

  • Collaboration across Product Unit teams and external departments

  • Innovative Product design, delivery, and launch

  • Provide exemplary leadership, acting as a role model to their own teams and to other areas of Electrium

  • Effective and efficient Supply Chain solutions meeting strategic needs of Product Unit

Qualifications:   Must have necessary qualifications for leading team within the Product Unit

Skills/ competencies

  • Shows an ability to drive for results and achieve completion of projects

  • Able to assume overall responsibility for the project management of EWA activities, delegating as appropriate

  • Able to persuade and influence at all levels of the organisation to drive projects forward

  • Project management skills, in both planning, management and implementation

  • Ability to manage and lead change

Knowledge       

  • Ability to undertake Lead role within one of the teams within the EWA structure

  • Product lifecycle and Product to market processes

  • Design processes including regulatory and standards requirements

  • Procurement and purchasing processes, including supplier selection

  • Budgeting and CAPEX processes

  • Knowledge of and input into relevant external industry and trade associations, e.g. BEAMA

  • Tooling development processes
