Join our team as an IT Support Engineer (m/f/d) - SISW in the User Help Desk in our office in Erlangen.

You are responsible for the on-site IT support of for our colleagues in the Erlangen area – in collaboration with an international, distributed team. Your general IT experience allows you to classify and solve IT issues easily. Given the complexity of a corporate IT infrastructures, your knowledge of the IT- and service- processes in the company, you can guide users to reach their goals and solve their requests for specific services. Together with the other IT departments, you can contribute to the further development of the IT landscape by testing or implementing new technologies and solutions.

Essential Functions
  • Primary contact for On-site and personal IT support for our internal colleagues
  • Live-Cycle support for our Windows 10 based client systems (re-imaging, hardware replacements)
  • Provides guidance with Siemens IT processes and consults with business teams for best practice solutions
  • Solving/Diagnosing every-day IT issues on client systems
  • Helps troubleshooting medium to complex systems related problems, also remotely
  • Contributes to and shares knowledge with our distributed support team
  • Writes some user and internal system administrator documentation and instructions
Skills and Abilities Required:
  • German at native speaker level
  • Good interpersonal skills to deal with our internal customers
  • Broad experience in IT landscape technologies
  • Analytic thinking and strong experience in first-level customer support
  • Physical ability to install systems and other hardware on data-center racks
  • Innovative thinking
  • Curios in regard to new IT technologies
  • Good English communication skills, in oral and written form
  • Also welcome:
    • Scripting skills in Powershell
    • Basic network skills (Cisco)
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Formal education in IT related technologies
  • At least 3 years of working experience in IT – especially in support functions 
  • General IT administration experience 
  • Experience with Siemens IT processes is highly welcome
