Job Description


The role has come about due to expansion as CIS is planning to double in size every 5 years and is targeting significant growth.

A suitable candidate could be based in Milan (preferably within commutable distance to Milan as that’s where the sales and admin persons are based, however has to spend most of his time with clients covering the Italian territory). The candidate role is to support the sales establish a funnel and selling CIS full stack of engineering software alongside with services, installation and training across companies in the Process Industry such as Chemical Processing, Pharmaceutical, Petrol, Food Processing and General Plant Maintenance.


An ideal candidate needs to be an aggressive and revenue driven pre-sales person with excellent management level contacts within the target verticals. It is an advantage if the candidate came from process engineering background and has supported in selling CAD/CAM/CAE software in the past. He needs to be a hungry new business hunter who support the sales in turning CIS’ Italy business round. He needs to be a very open minded and direct guy, who is very customer and issues oriented. As an ideal candidate he needs to have a stable background and show the commitment to have a longer stay with the company as well as have a proven track record of success within his previous organizations. It is important that he is able to think as an entrepreneur as the role will involve a lot of responsibility.

A certain affinity to European/German business is a plus, a fluent English language skills is a must, and German language skills are however not a must.

PROBLEM SOLVING: Analyses data from various sources and synthesizes alternatives to create innovative solution that will meet and evolve beyond current requirements. Can visualise sales opportunities over and above simple existing customer problems

ABILITY TO BUILD QUESTIONS THAT UNCOVER BUSINESS NEEDS: Ask questions that uncover not just todays issues but tomorrows as well, inspires the customer to look at the proposed solution as a competitive weapon and thus wins the business

TEAMWORK WITH SALES & THE SELLING TEAM: Plays an active, central role in one or more teams. Effectively manages conflict within the team.

WORKING WITH CUSTOMERS: Analyses customer's business goals and forms effective business relationships at senior levels within the account. Looks to create references

BUSINESS APPROACH: Finds synergy between technology and customers' business vision and goals. Influences strategies to achieve business alignment. Has the ability and understands the importance of delivering a solution that provides a real business impact to the customer at CXO level

WORKING WITH PARTNERS: Manages conflict in engagements if needed. Manages the technical engagement and strategy of the partner team. Forms coalitions with senior people in partner/ customer organisations

PRESENTATION AND SOLUTION DELIVERY: Creates and delivers high-impact presentations that emphasise business value, appropriately customised for the audience. Handles hostile audiences professionally

RELATIONSHIP BUILDING: Develops relationships at senior executive level. Effectively leverages worldwide network to maximise contribution to projects. Understands the CXO perspective

RESOURCE AND PROCESS MANAGEMENT: Manages complex sales processes and gives guidance to presales resources. Secures resources by building a strong business case

Job requirements

-       Degree required preferably in a technical field

-       Willingness to travel

-       3-5 years software pre-sales experience (CAD / CAE tools)

-       Proven communication skills a must

-       Must be highly motivated, organized and articulate professional with interpersonal and team building skills

-       Demonstrable track record of achieving or exceeding pre-sales goals

-       Candidates need to be able to work autonomously and be comfortable in a start up environment

-       Entrepreneurial mindset as qualification for further development within the company

-       English speaking fluently

-       German language skills not required but would be a plus
