Job Description

About us

We are a small team of engineers supporting an extremely talented software development group based in Cambridge, UK.  Our product is NX, the advanced Computer Aided Design application.  For more information about us, see the links below.

Our team supports the development of NX assembly design functionality, and the integration of NX with Teamcenter - Siemens’ product lifecycle management system.  We work with anything from huge assemblies of hundreds of thousands of components, to the smallest and simplest of mechanisms.  We have customers in aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, machinery, and many other industries, whose engineers rely on our software to develop a wide range of products. Our mission is to ensure they have the best possible experience.

About you

If you are interested in joining us for the summer, we look forward to hearing from you.  The team member we are looking for…

  • Is enthusiastic and working towards, or has recently obtained, a strong degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Has experience using a CAD / 3D Geometry system
  • Enjoys creative problem solving
  • Has good written and verbal communication skills
  • Has a desire to test (and if you would like, write) code as part of a friendly team

About the role

We work closely with developers to achieve high quality and on-time delivery of new projects.  As well as testing and demonstrating a project, we participate in its design and implementation, while discussing and solving problems as a team. We work collaboratively with other teams, both here in Cambridge and around the globe, and interact with customers to ensure we are providing quality solutions that meet their business needs.

If you join us as an intern, you would be working alongside experienced Application Engineers, either within a team as part of a larger project, or more autonomously on a smaller area accompanied by guidance and coaching from your manager and team members around you.

The role will include exposure to some or all of the following:

  • Learning to use the NX CAD system and it’s integration with the Teamcenter PLM system
  • Learning our software lifecycle development and testing processes
  • Contributing to core NX development and automated testing
  • Work on projects relating to Assemblies, UI, Visualisation or Teamcenter integration
  • Helping resolve issues raised by users, and supporting NX test activities

We have a relaxed and flexible working atmosphere and a culture of mutual respect and shared responsibility for getting the job done. Our modern office is centrally-based with good public transport links.

Benefits for interns include pro-rata paid holiday, company discounts, social events and flexibility in working hours.
